flash/animation in iweb?

i was told i can create an animated scene on keynote, then convert that to flash. how then, do i import this flash into iweb to create an animated scene or movie?

correction -- how do i create an animated sequence whereby it is automatically integrated into my iweb page? meaning, it's not on the movies page section whereby you have to click on the play button for it to become animated.

i want it to appear seamless.

Hi, you might want to look into BannerZest or BannerZestPro by Aquafadas. The program is very easy to use, and pretty much drag & drop. I don't use keynote that often but you might have an export option for your frames or to export it as a Quicktime movie (instead of Flash). Or you can use ScreenSnapzProX to capture screenshots or record your presentation and then save it as a Quicktime. There probably are apps to convert Quicktime to a Flash FLV, maybe someone can chime in on that one.

Here is an example of a BannerZest file created by 2 static pshop images (there was a glitch in the previous version, and the files were not compressing down properly, so this one was quite large). Here is the link: http://web.mac.com/mlblacy/SJVProofs/CMC_Comcast.html

The program integrates with iWeb, RapidWeaver, Dreamweaver, etc. very easily. They also make a app called PulpMotion for videos, but I am guessing you are trying to just replicate your Keynote presentation. Both apps have free trial downloads. BannerZest might have been offered in a previous MacHeist, so it might be offered in a future bundle again...

thanks so much. a couple of questions (i'm a complete novice) what are pshop files? you mean photoshop jpgs? i like the link you sent me; it's quite nice. i don't care whether i use flash or quicktime or keynote. i only used keynote b/c that was what was recommended so i didn't know any better. i did convert the animation to quicktime, but on iweb, it requires that you only drop it into the 'movie' page and it looks really silly b/c there is a mini scroll bar/play button that appears below the animation. so you have to manually press play. i want something that appears seamless like your link.

once you created your link, did you simply copy and paste the html code into iweb?

Hi Ananda, sorry.... pshop indeed meant photoshop files. The sample file I linked to was just 2 simple images linked in a slideshow in the BannerZest program... and it was VERY easy to accomplish. I am well versed in photoshop, but by no means a whiz in flash... BannerZest is very simple and user friendly. The downside is the program is a wee pricey in my opinion, for the limited use most folks will get. Also, a lot of the options/effects are a mite cheesey... the slideshow is the most low-key (and probably worth the purchase). I had originally bought it as a way to make some online ad banners, but the files are not true FLA/FLV files, but are in a proprietary BannerZest format (which however is readable by the flash viewer). So I don't think it will work for commercial ad banners... Download the program and run it in demo mode and see if you like it...

As for embedding the files it is pretty easy with iWeb (which is what I used to embed the sample file). Prepare your file, hit "publish", and you will get a page with the code snippet you need to paste into your iWeb page. There are detailed instructions for pasting the files into sites made by iWeb, RapidWeaver & Dreamweaver, etc... and it was very easy to do for iWeb.

Check out their PulpMotion application, it might have a slicker approach for integration of the Quicktime files. I haven't tried it though...

the method used when using adobe flash files, is you export them to HTML, meaning that it renders the relevant .swf file (the animation) and creates a HTML file with the relevant tags.

to use this with iweb, simply copy the swf into your site directory, and then copy and paste the relevant tags from the HTML file generated by flash, into a HTML block in iweb, (see the web widgets section).

your animation should now be embedded into your page, and the principal behind this should be able to be applied to keynote, although i am not 100%, if you still need assistance PM me and i shall give proper instructions

You can make a page with Keynote and integrate it into iweb, here is an example of a keynote in iweb. this site is not finished and is not mine but I have referenced it on my site as a keynote ex. http://www.ipflipper.com/ginasaro.html
Check it out it is a well done page entirely in keynote. Export your keynote to flash then just insert it in your page.

wow! that is a really cool site and flash/key note sequence! i tried finding instructions on your site to insert keynote into iweb, but couldn't. i'll try again. i love the sequence -- that was so GREAT!
